EVOLUTION OF ZINC
For over a hundred years, India held a monopoly in exporting Zinc. In the year 1550 C.E. Chinese traders learned the trick of smelting Zinc from South Indian metalsmiths. In 1730, William Campian smelted Zinc in England using the Indian technique. He called the process Tutty. Thus, the process traveled from India to China to England to the rest of the world. As the demand for Zinc kept increasing, Asturiana de Zinc S.A. was founded in Asturias, with the participation of Real Compañía Asturiana de Minas in 1957. The first electrolytic Zinc was produced in 1960. But, the use of Zinc as a building material picked up when Napolean III ordered the transformation of Paris. It was also widely used in the UK for civic buildings, railway stations, Kings Cross Façade, etc. However, Zinc’s use in the European continent completely disappeared by 1990. Fortunately, the world has once again recognized Zinc’s superior qualities as a building material and it is much sought after today by architects and designers worldwide.
EUROBOND ZCP - ENGINEERED TO LAST FOREVER
Zinc is a self-healing material that is resistant to corrosion and atmospheric aggression. It absorbs greenhouse gases and carbon dioxide to form a protective layer of Zinc Carbonate called Patina on the surface. Thanks to this, Zinc has a lifetime potential of over 100 years. So, the cost of ZCP’s maintenance is low. Furthermore, Zinc exhibits excellent malleability that makes it adaptable for the most complex building geometry. ZCPs can be easily molded to create stylish façade, cladding, roofing, and interiors. Additionally, EUROBOND ZCPs also come loaded with a host of features like exceptional smoothness and rigidity. You Can also avail of the panel sheets in large dimensions with a maximum width of 1340 mm. The ZCPs can be made fire retardant too.
